MIT puts mobile technology front and center in new research lab

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has deployed more than 50 faculty members and students for a new research lab focused on next-generation wireless technology, specifically to increase the efficiency of global Wi-Fi networks. The university unwrapped its plans for "Wireless@MIT" on Thursday, explaining that the research center staff will work alongside engineers from such companies as Intel, Cisco Systems, and Microsoft.
