Dramatic health improvements seen among weight-loss surgery patients

In addition to losing substantial amounts of weight, severely obese people who undergo gastric bypass surgeries also often see tremendous improvements in other health issues, a new study says. Researchers say among the patients who had the operation there was a 70% to 80% reduction in cases of hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea and high cholesterol.
