Cal Poly opens new building for construction students

The $17 million Construction Innovations Center recently opened at California Polytechnic in San Luis Obispo as part of a $33 million expansion project. It's designed to simulate a real work space and has labs and two architecture studios. An additional 7,000 square feet are planned for a demonstration lab where students would design, build and test several structural components.
