California's budget problems could spread to CRE

The financial crisis in California is expected to spread to the commercial real estate sector. The state can't secure $7 billion in short-term financing for day-to-day expenses as a result of the credit crunch. That could mean higher taxes or big spending cuts, both of which could lead to an increase in office vacancies.
