Dallas Fed chief says "every option" to be explored in credit crisis

Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher has told an international finance group that the Federal Reserve will "explore every avenue and consider every option" to restore normal behavior in the credit markets. He said the current turmoil will touch off a cooling of the U.S. economy, including the possibility of negative growth, that could stretch well into 2009. Fisher said the coordinated response to the credit crunch by many of the world's central banks show that the temptation to pursue a "beggar-thy-neighbor policy" has been avoided.
