Backing Android, Motorola steps back from LiMo

Motorola is putting the Linux-based LiMo Foundation at arm's length as the handset maker gets solidly behind phones from Google's competing open-source Android software. A co-founder of the consortium, Motorola has downgraded to an associate member, saying it wants to stand out from rival equipment providers through its strong backing of Android.
