Airlines' on-time rates rise in August:

U.S. airlines delivered nearly 82% of their domestic flights on time in August, up from 79.7% for the same month last year, according to data from the Transportation Department. Along with the increase in on-time flights, however, came a rise in customer complaints. An agency spokesman said easier reporting mechanisms, such as the DOT's consumer complaint website, may help explain the rise in complaints.
