Research pours cold water on hot peppers' possible weight-loss role

Researchers are casting doubts on claims from Japanese food maker Ajinomoto that a chemical in chili peppers can help with weight loss. Study participants who consumed dihydrocapsiate in a pill burned about 50 more calories a day but did not lose weight.
