Veterinarian eases deployed soldier's mind with pro bono surgery

Petaluma, Calif., veterinarian Russ Gurevitch will donate his time and surgical skills later this month to repair the knee and hip sockets of Bud, a stray dog rescued by airman Brett McIsaac and adopted by his parents shortly before the GI shipped out to Afghanistan. "If Brett can go to Afghanistan for his country, the least I can do is help his dog," Gurevitch told McIsaac's mother.
