Study finds link between healthy lifestyle, early menopause

A 10-year Japanese study of more than 3,100 women found that those who exercised eight to 10 hours per week had a 17% higher chance of early menopause compared with those who were sedentary. Meanwhile, women who consumed the most polyunsaturated fats contained in vegetable and fish oils were 15% more likely to experience menopause early than their counterparts who ate the least polyunsaturated fats. The findings do not demonstrate cause and effect, researchers noted in the journal Menopause.
