14.6M visit ACA enrollment portal, but deep problems persist

Unique visits to the Affordable Care Act's enrollment portal reached 14.6 million in 10 days, HHS said Friday. Improvements to the troubled website were touted by the department, which said that fixes in the past two weeks allowed more users to shop for coverage and significantly reduced wait times. The number of individuals who have actually enrolled in the exchanges was not disclosed by HHS despite requests from reporters. Widespread problems have been an embarrassment to the White House. "The extent of the problems is pretty enormous. At the end of our calls, people say, 'It's awful, just awful,'" an insurance executive said.
