Businesses should consider that Facebook posts with hashtags generate less engagement on average than Twitter posts with hashtags, writes Annie Pilon. Marketers should also consider whether a hashtag will help their post show up in search results or whether, as with the Super Bowl, the hashtag is being used by so many people that your post has no chance of standing out, Pilon writes.
