Seattle Board OKs three more years for schools chief

In an emotional meeting yesterday, the Seattle School Board voted 4-3 to extend Superintendent Raj Manhas's contract through Aug. 31, 2007. Board members opposed to the contract had argued it contained no language, except for a provision allowing termination at any time for any reason, that could hold Manhas accountable for measurable outcomes.
