Casual-dining executives: We need to stand out, lower prices

Too many U.S. casual-dining chains have taken on a similar look, feel and taste, just as the economy has slumped and competition from the quickservice sector has heated up, according to one writer. At least 1,000 casual-dining restaurants will shut down during the next year, according to research. Executives agree necessary changes include spiffing up stores, improving service and becoming more child-friendly.
