Report: Google, Yahoo! in talks with regulators over search ad alliance

The Justice Department reportedly is in negotiations with Google and Yahoo! which could lead to settlement that would permit the two Internet companies to go ahead with their planned deal to serve Google's search ads on Yahoo! Web pages. Many in the online ad industry, most notably Microsoft, have objected to the deal because they say it concentrates power and limits competition. DOJ is continuing to prepare for a possible antitrust lawsuit designed to block the deal.
