Research: Mobile search coming into its own

Mobile users who acquire Apple 3G-capable iPhones or other smartphones are increasingly dialing up mobile search, especially to find products at local businesses, local search agency TMP Directional Marketing has found. Two in three users with Wi-Fi-enabled phones have used them for mobile search, compared to 20% of those with standard cell phones, according to TMP's research.
