Ad groups oppose new financial-services oversight

The 4A's, the Association of National Advertisers and other groups are opposing the establishment of a proposed federal Consumer Finance Protection Agency that would take over certain aspects of financial-services-advertising regulation from the Federal Trade Commission. The ad groups are concerned that, as currently drafted, legislation to establish the new agency would create overlapping regulatory authorities, creating confusion for advertisers, agencies and media companies.
