Calif. regulators' vote on TV energy guidelines imminent

The California Energy Commission could vote as early as Nov. 4 on a set of stricter energy requirements on big-screen HDTVs sold in the state. The Consumer Electronics Association has taken issue with the proposed measure, and Doug Johnson, the association's senior director of technology policy, has said that "voluntary efforts are succeeding without regulations."
