Co-sleeping causes 54% of SIDS deaths, study shows

British researchers said a study of sudden infant death cases showed 54% occurred when a baby shared a bed or sofa with a parent. They said the rate of SIDS increased when the adult who was co-sleeping with the infant had been drinking alcohol or taking drugs.
