Corus asset purchase just the beginning, Starwood's chief says

With the acquisition of the Corus bank portfolio concluded, Starwood Capital Group is looking at investing in another distressed portfolio of a Midwest bank that got into trouble, firm Chairman and CEO Barry Sternlicht said. "There's at least one other really attractive bank," he told Reuters. "They had national branches. But I wouldn't give the Midwest a distinction on that. I think there are plenty of calamities across the country."
