Defense contracts give Hawker Beechcraft a lift in down market

While the business jet market flounders, Hawker Beechcraft has been able to get a boost from defense sales of its King Air line of aircraft. The company this week announced a $183 million contract for the sale of 24 of its T-6C single-engine turboprop trainers to the Royal Moroccan Air Force, and last April, the U.S. Air Force took delivery of the first of 23 King Air 350ER twin turboprop aircraft under a $171 million contract.
