Family intervention helps obese children lose weight

A six-month weight-management program that included the whole family helped obese children lose weight and improve their medical risk factors, researchers report in Pediatrics. The study found a 7.58% decrease in child percent overweight with the intervention, compared with a 0.66% decrease for children receiving usual care.
