Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill is doing better than other full-service restaurants, with a second-quarter same-store sales decline of 4.3%, compared with the industry average of 6.6%. The chain, acquired by DineEquity two years ago, appears to be on the path to revitalization, thanks to a focus on value and a "2 for $20" deal offering two entrees and an appetizer.
