N.M. gliders club soars to 50-year anniversary

The White Sands Soaring Association glides to its 50th anniversary this month at the Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport in Alamogordo, N.M. The gliders club boasts about 27 members, and the club owns three gliders as well as a tow plane. "This is an easy way to fly," said pilot Steve Jaszai. "With power, you pay by the hour, but here, you pay by the tow."
