Airlines consider eliminating first class

The wave of mergers, the weak economy and other factors might mean the end to first-class cabins in airplanes. For example, premium service on AirTran routes will be discontinued after the carrier's merger with Southwest Airlines is complete. Some airlines have eliminated first class while improving their business class.
