Delta baggage handlers begin casting ballots in union election

Delta Air Lines baggage handlers begin voting today on union representation, joining flight attendants in crucial elections that could remake the carrier. Baggage handlers will vote via phone and Internet through Nov. 18, and the election will be decided by a simple majority of ballots cast after the National Mediation Board changed a longstanding rule that required a majority of all eligible voters.
