Diabetes benefit is seen in Mediterranean diet

Research indicates a traditional Mediterranean diet can cut the risk of Type 2 diabetes in older adults, even if they don't lose weight. The study followed 418 older adults in Spain, all with risk factors for heart disease, and found that those who consumed more mono- and polyunsaturated fats were less likely to develop diabetes.
