BNSF is working to restore normal service on its last flood-damaged subdivision, the Napier, between Napier, Mo., and Pacific Junction, Iowa, and has a target opening date in mid-October. "We will continue to focus on service as we enter the traditional fall peak shipping season," according to John Lanigan, BNSF executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "Last week, we moved over 200,000 carloads for the first time in three years. We hope it is a positive sign for the economy."
