Mobile ICU transports rural Va. children to Roanoke hospital

Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital's new mobile pediatric ICU does not look much like an ambulance -- with a brightly colored skyline, flowers and children painted on the exterior. But the $325,000 fully equipped neonatal and pediatric ICU inside means critical care services can be brought to the patient and allows for transfer of premature infants and sick children from southwestern Virginia to Roanoke.
