Snow leopard cubs undergo surgery for eye abnormalities

Veterinarians at the Philadelphia Zoo this week performed surgery on two male snow leopard cubs to correct abnormalities in their eyelids. The cubs were born with coloboma, a condition in which a portion of the upper eyelids is missing. The condition can also occur in humans and in other feline species.
