Agency asks for public comment on patient credentialing

The ONC's privacy and security panels are seeking public input on how to verify the identity of patients when they electronically access their medical records, and this input will also be shared with the federal Health IT Policy and Standards Committees in an Oct. 29 online hearing on patient credentialing. Participants in the upcoming meeting are also set to consider ways to reduce costs and complications associated with digital credentials.
