Bevy of Windows 8.1 tablets with Bay Trail chip shipping soon

The introduction of Windows 8.1 next week will coincide with the release of three tablets that carry Intel's Bay Trail chip at prices ranging from $299 to $350 as other vendors prepare to release their own devices based on Intel's Atom processor. Dell, Toshiba and Asus have Windows 8.1 tablets ready to ship, each featuring an 8-inch screen and at least 8 hours of battery power. Also at Microsoft, the company announced its third version of Windows Phone 8, adding new features and software upgrades aimed at boosting the power and performance of handsets for the holiday sales season.
