CEA beginning work on IPv6 profiles standard

10/14/2013

CEA is launching a new standards project to define Internet host and router profiles. The new project is based on prior work done by CEA's IPv6 Working Group, which recommended profiles for "Basic," "Basic-plus" and "Advanced" devices, ranging from devices with limited IPv6 support (Basic) to devices with significant IPv6 support that allow provisioning by a broadband service provider (Advanced). The name of the new project is "Host and Router Profiles for IPv6." All interested parties are encouraged to join both the working group, and CEA's home networks committee.
