Cigna unveils 2 accountable care initiatives

Cigna has secured collaborative accountable care deals with the Patient Physician Network in Texas and the Santa Clara County IPA in California. The deal with SCCIPA will benefit more than 13,000 Cigna members, while the agreement with PPN covers more than 6,000 members. Cigna will help providers in both groups track and coordinate care more effectively by providing patient-specific data and will reward the groups for satisfying care cost and quality goals based on a pay-for-value reimbursement structure.
