Cocoa prices, demand up in North America

Cocoa grind in North America may have increased 5.1% in the third quarter, and processing rose to 128,071 metric tons, according to analysts and traders surveyed by Bloomberg News. On Sept. 27, spot prices of cocoa butter were $7,904 a metric ton, a five-year high, and as of Oct. 10, cocoa prices in New York surged 22% this year.
