"Dirty Girls" author to publish online mag for wealthy Latinas

Author Alisa Valdes is starting an online magazine for wealthy Latinas called Rica (Rich, in Spanish). "I had been speaking to this upscale Latino group for 10 years without even realizing that there was a name for it. I saw that no one was targeting this group with a magazine or website," says Valdes, who penned "The Dirty Girls Social Club." Enedina Vega-Amáez, a vice president and publisher of Meredith Hispanic Media, says it might be tough for Rica to attract luxury brands to the site until it can offer significant scale.
