Ethanol offers hope to struggling Indian cane mills

Sugarcane processors in India struggling from low sugar prices are hoping to get an earnings lift from producing ethanol as the country moves to encourage ethanol blending in an effort to reduce reliance on imported oil. By implementing an E5 standard, India could save about $1 billion annually on oil imports, observers said.
