Educator Matthew Farber writes in this blog post how he uses digital games and board games developed by the Institute of Play's Mission Lab to engage his sixth- and seventh-grade students in class. For instance, he uses the nondigital debate game "Socratic Smackdown" for class discussions. "Games enable my students to discover different ways of solving problems, which is more like life and less like standardized tests," Farber writes.
