Ill. video gambling revenue helps fund capital projects

Revenue from video gambling in Illinois has assisted local governments and schools with capital projects through grant funding. The state legalized video gambling in 2009, and it was expected to bring in up to $534 million annually. "When you get the capital money, it allows you to do a little more," said Tim Mahaffy, a school district superintendent.
