One-fifth of Gallup survey respondents want federal government to focus on jobs

Nearly one-fifth of U.S. residents surveyed by Gallup recently want the government to do more to create jobs. The poll, which was taken before the government shutdown, also showed that 10% prefer the government to cut spending to help the economy, and 7% would like the federal government to lower taxes.
