Pa. congressman suggests modest changes to sugar program

Rep. Joseph Pitts, R-Pa., plans to introduce a resolution to give the Secretary of Agriculture more flexibility in managing sugar imports under the U.S. sugar program. The sugar program has cost the USDA $187.9 million this year, a figure that will most likely rise once the government reopens.
