Rep. Hastings hopes Congress reaches deal on U.S.-Mexico drilling

Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., is optimistic that both chambers of Congress will reach a deal on a bill that would implement an offshore-drilling agreement between the U.S. and Mexico. The Senate and the House of Representatives passed separate versions of the measures this year. "We're hopeful that a solution will be worked out between the House and Senate versions of the bill to expand energy development in the Gulf of Mexico that will create new American jobs, lower energy prices, and generate tens of millions of dollars in new revenue," said Michael Tadeo, a spokesman for Hastings.
