Travel Channel chief Laureen Ong to depart at end of the month

Travel Channel President Laureen Ong, who took the job in 2010 following Scripps Network Interactive's acquisition of a majority stake from Cox Communications, is making her exit on Oct. 31. Ong, who oversaw the development of such shows as "Hotel Impossible" and "Monumental Mysteries," will be replaced during the network's search for a successor by Burton Jablin, president of Scripps Networks.
