Twitter's board underscores lack of women on corporate boards

The revelation that all of Twitter's board members are male has highlighted the gender disparity on corporate boards, writes Vikas Bajaj. Nearly half of publicly traded information-technology companies have no women on their boards, and the percentage of computing jobs held by women has actually declined since 1990, he notes. In consumer products and retail, 28% of companies have no women on their corporate boards, and overall, of 3,000 publicly traded companies, women make up only 12% of corporate boards.
