ZTE will change its focus from a popular seller of low-end smartphones to selling a majority of its handsets from midrange and high-end phones in an effort to become the third-largest global phone-maker, Executive Vice President He Shiyou said in an interview Friday. The Chinese vendor has become a sponsor of the NBA's Houston Rockets in an effort to raise its U.S. profile. "The Rockets partnership is expected to raise ZTE's U.S. and global brand awareness. The U.S. market is top priority and expected to be biggest market for ZTE cellphones in two years," he said.
