Medtronic-Kyphon merger secures antitrust approval in Europe

Antitrust regulators in Spain, Austria and Cyprus have granted approval to Medtronic's $3.9 billion takeover bid for Kyphon, allowing the company to strengthen its spinal business. The deal still is subject to approval by Kyphon shareholders and antitrust regulators in Portugal and Turkey.
