Babies in Canadian hospital infected with C. difficile

Nine babies at Regina General Hospital in Saskatchewan, Canada, have tested positive for Clostridium difficile after an outbreak in the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit, a health official said. The bacteria has been linked to hundreds of deaths in Ontario and Quebec hospitals, but the strain found in Regina was different and was easily treated, according to health officials.
