Rhode Island DOT says it needs more money

Rhode Island's Department of Transportation says it needs an extra $300 million a year to maintain state highways and roads. Rep. William San Bento Jr., D-Pawtucket, voiced concern over the Providence River bridge on Route 95. Large trucks are prohibited from it because beams are badly rusted. "I don't know how safe that bridge is, and I don't know how long it's going to be standing up," San Bento said.
