RN's program helps elderly Chinese prevent osteoporosis

RN Bing Bing Qi is working to help elderly Chinese immigrants in Philadelphia become aware of and prevent osteoporosis. A lack of exercise and little dairy intake from a traditional Chinese diet makes osteoporosis a serious problem for this demographic. For her doctoral study, she advertised free bone-mass density screenings in Chinese newspapers and via flyers and mailed letters written in Mandarin to invite people to educational presentations.
