Weak economy fuels student nurse enrollment

The State University of New York Upstate Medical University says the poor economy has given a boost to enrollment in its College of Nursing, which is up 77% this year over 2007. Many students are attracted to nursing because of its job security. "Nursing has always been a career that has been immune to economic cycles," the dean of the nursing college said.
